BioAstin supplies an extremely powerful antioxidant called Astaxanthin (ASTA-ZAN-THIN). Although similar to the better-known antioxidant beta-carotene, slight differences in the structure of astaxanthin cause it to be much different in activity. Astaxanthin is ten times stronger than beta carotene and up to 500 times stronger than vitamin E as an antioxidant. Other unique aspects of its structure allow it to pass the ""blood brain barrier"", meaning it can deliver antioxidant benefits directly to the brain and central nervous system.
