Uva Ursi extract is standardized to 20% arbutin. Based on the antiseptic action of the leaves, Uva Ursi was listed in the U.S. Pharmacopeia and National Formulary from 1820-1950. Latin Name Arctostaphylos uva - ursi. Nature's Way standardized Uva Ursi is a Scientifically advanced herbal extract standardized to 20% arbutin, the constituent which is the primary focus of the herbs therapeutic effects. Uva Ursi leaves were officially a drug for urinary antiseptic in the U.S. Pharmacopoeia and the National Formulatory from 1820 until 1950. It was first used by Welsh physicians in the 13th century.
