Selenium is found in high concentrations in muscle and organ meats, whereas most fruits and vegetables are low in this element. Selenium is a constituent of glutathione perioxidase and 5’-iodinase, an enzyme used in thyroid hormone metabolism.

Vitamin E and B2 (Riboflavin) are important to the metabolism of Selenium. Odor modified garlic is a source of Cysteine, an amino acid used in selenium metabolism.

Jarrow Formulas’ Activated Selenium is formulated for optimum selenium function and is hypoallergenic. Each capsule contains 100 mcg. of Selenium Organically Bound to the amino acid L-Methionine, which is a combination found in nature and food.
Take 1 to 2 capsules per day, not to exceed 2 capsules per day, or as directed by your qualified health consultant.
