Fungal Infection

The number of anti-fungal herbs probably reaches into the hundreds.  The question is, of course, does taking them internally help with an external fungal infection, on the skin or toenails?  That's not a question we're able to answer.  Certainly, if you have a fungal infection only on one small area it might makes sense to simply focus on that area by using one or more of these herbs topically.

Anti-fungal herbs include, but are not limited to, oregano, tea tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia), neem (Azadirachta indica), gumweed (Grindelia squarrosa), red cedar (Thuja spp.) and many, many more.  Coconut oil also has some antifungal properties.  Most will be effective with skin fungal infections.

Toenail fungus is trickier because it's under the toe -- the herbs have a hard time getting to it.  Applying the herbs twice a day, and often for a matter of weeks if not months, is often necessary.
