Blood Thinning

Most of us could probably benefit from a little blood thinning for general health.  And almost all of us can take mild blood thinners like ginger, turmeric, and garlic without worries.

However, when you're in a medical situation or on a pharmaceutical drug that effects clotting time, things get a lot trickier.  Thin your blood too much, and the next time you take a fall, you could bleed internally; thin your blood too little, and you increase your risk of a blood clot.

There's no reason you can't use natural medicine in these situation, even at the same time as anticoagulant drugs such as coumadin.  Butyou will need to do this under the supervision of a medical professional who tests your blood regularly.

The most exciting natural blood thinner out there now looks to be nattokinase, derived from the Japanese fermented soy food, natto.  (Writer's note: I just ate some natto the other week.  It is easily the most disgusting food I have EVER tasted!  Luckily, it comes in pill form).  However, this one, unlike the garlic, ginger, etc., is probably strong enough that you should use it without those blood tests.
